OpenNature is a community of scientists, technologists, and doers who care deeply about speeding up action for nature. We work together to combine the latest technology, AI, data, and science to scale and accelerate our knowledge and expand protection for life on Earth. We are different from other organisations and initiatives in that our goal is to share this knowledge freely and make it available to everyone everywhere. By sharing conservation data and tools, we all benefit.
We are a group of individuals and organisations committed to achieving the goals of OpenNature.
We imagine a world where:
1. Knowledge grows fast: New discoveries about nature are made quickly using integrated, smart and evolving technology.
2. Everyone can access information: People everywhere can learn about and use biodiversity data to make better choices.
3. Nature guides our decisions: Businesses, governments, and communities use this information to create sustainable and healthy environments.
OpenNature is organized like a cooperative where everyone has a voice. We believe in working together and sharing responsibilities. However, we also retain a small steering group to govern the organization day-to-day and allow it to get things done efficiently.
Participate in projects, share knowledge and ideas, and collaborate.
Volunteer to guide specific projects or initiatives.
A group of members work together to govern the direction of the initiative.
